Lesley Whitney, formerly responsible for early years work in Norfolk, is now head of early years for the London Borough of Camden; and Mary Durkin, formerly director of communications at the National Youth Agency, is now head of youth service for Camden. (In her previous role she led the review of Camden’s youth service).

Dr Carolynne Moore, lecturer in civil engineering at the University of Wales, is the new chair of the Engineering Council’s WISE (Women Into Science and Engineering) campaign. She replaces Dr Jarmila Davies, chartered engineer and senior lecturer at Glamorgan University.

Dorothy Spragg has been appointed as officer for the secondary sector at the Royal National Institute for the Blind’s inclusive education service in Coventry, tel: 01203 366133.
