I CAN, the educational charity for children with speech and language difficulties, has appointed Linda Redford as its first director of services to children and families. She will play a leading role in completing I CAN’s national network of 20 early-years centres by March 2004. After teaching in inner London for more than 20 years, Ms Redford became an adviser and inspector. She joined the charity NCH (National Children’s Homes) as education adviser in 1992.
Elaine Fulton will succeed Robert Craig as director of the Scottish Library and Information Council and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals when he retires next month. She is at present assistant director of the two bodies.
