JOHN McNally, head of St Bernadette’s primary school in Birmingham, has been appointed chairman of the advisory board of education experts to support Lollipop Learning, the specialist schools website and email company. Mr McNally (pictured) also chairs the National Association of Head Teachers’ international committee and is a member of the National Association for School Leaders’ ICT committee. Lollipop Learning was founded earlier this year to provide affordable technology for education.

I CAN, the educational charity for children with speech and language difficulties, has appointed Linda Redford as its first director of services to children and families. She will play a leading role in completing I CAN’s national network of 20 early-years centres by March 2004. After teaching in inner London for more than 20 years, Ms Redford became an adviser and inspector. She joined the charity NCH (National Children’s Homes) as education adviser in 1992.

Elaine Fulton will succeed Robert Craig as director of the Scottish Library and Information Council and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals when he retires next month. She is at present assistant director of the two bodies.
