PEOPLE. Heather du Quesnay, president of the Society of Education Officers and the new executive director of education for Lambeth, has been appointed chair of the National Council for Educational Technology until the end of 1998.

Anne Evans became executive director of Headteachers into Industry, Warwick University, on March 4 upon the retirement of David Coulson. She retains an associate role with Ernst and Young Chartered Accountants as an educational consultant especially with the Business and Education Series management training programmes.

Dr John Ashworth, director of the London School of Economics and Political Science, will replace Sir Anthony Kenny as chair of the British Library’s Board on September 1 for a period of five years.

Janice Anderson has been appointed national network services director at Understanding British Industry, with responsibility for the Teacher Placement Service. She was formerly UBI’s West Midlands regional director and was responsible for research and evaluation.
