Two per cent of British city children think that cows lay eggs and bacon comes from sheep, a survey of 1,000 children by Dairy Farmers of Britain found.
The study also revealed that one in 10 8-year-olds did not know where pork chops came from.
City children were almost three times more likely than their rural counterparts not to know the source of beef burgers. And 10 per cent of “townie” children did not know where yogurt came from, compared with just 6 per cent of country children.
