They played music from Enya on Monday at the careers conference in Edinburgh. It made a soothing contrast to the previous day’s question time panel whose members, led by Kirsty Wark, were bagpiped in.

This was a new experience for all the panellists. “I felt like a haggis, ” quipped Dermot Dick, careers supremo in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
