The Inspectorate does not know how influential it is. It appears that Terry Christie’s Alloa Athletic has had to put up with the consequences of the manager’s other responsibility, the headship of Musselburgh Grammar.

Readers will recall the June brouhaha following HMI’s report on the school which generated publicity, not necessarily reflective of the report, about “the worst school in Scotland”. Apparently the fine print has not quite found its way to the terraces where the Alloa manager has faced chants of “your team’s shite, your school’s shite and it’s run by vandals”.
