Michelle Jones has no problems with her new nickname. She is known as the Pizza Lady, a reference to the pie chart that accompanies the official school effectiveness framework (SEF). The chart is fast becoming her trade mark.

She says her SEF journey has been a long one, but at the same time she believes her work has only just begun.

As SEF networks have developed over the past year, Ms Jones has received emails about the work from Drs Judy Halbert and Linda Kaser, two prominent educationists in British Columbia, Canada.

The academics spread the news about the work being done in Welsh schools to their colleagues across British Columbia, and Ms Jones has now formed links with a number of schools there.

At the start of the new term, she is planning to share their interests and research with her teacher network.
