Too many teen mothers end up jobless and poor because they face barriers to education, according to Barnardo's Cymru. The charity said 84 per cent of young mothers in Wales were not in education, employment or training and many dropped out of school because of a lack of support and flexibility. But the Assembly government said the claims were "simply untrue", as it has given guidance and funding to schools and local authorities to support the educational needs of young mothers.
