Welsh schoolchildren get more than pound;5 more pocket money than the national UK average. Young people aged between seven and 16 in Wales receive an average of pound;13.51 per week, compared with pound;8.37 for all children in the UK. The Halifax building society, which conducted the survey, found pocket-money levels had risen by four times the rate of inflation.
