Poet laureate scoops national school gong

Carol Ann Duffy, the poet laureate, has won a national school prize for her collection New and Collected Poems for Children. The award was made by the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education. Former winners have included Jackie Kay, Roger McGough and Fiona Waters.
