* The news that the British National party has targeted schools may come to some as a shock. However, many among the black and minority ethnic communities have been saying precisely this for some time.

We all too often take our multi-cultural society for granted. The challenge now is for the masses to stand on the side of decency and good human values.

The greatest tragedy to befall our country would be to allow extremists to inculcate their very destructive ideas into the mindsets of future generations. The warning signs are now loud and clear. Parents, teachers and those in power must take heed before it is too late. Racial hatred and intolerance serves no one.
