* It is annoying enough when some members of the public assume teachers are part-timers without a Teacher Training Agency advert (“Teaching ad ridiculed”, TES, January 14) portraying an easy life.
The Government must be living in a fantasy world when it compares teaching to an anti-ageing cream. I’ve seen teaching cause ageing, stress and illness as well as fear when teaching a challenging class. What chance for teachers to gain respect for doing a demanding job with this kind of advertising?
