* Dorothy Lepkowska’s article (“Up the ladder for success in languages”, TES, June 3) highlighted the Government’s new languages ladder and its successful pilot schemes.

We thought it might interest your readers to know that the voluntary assessment scheme for the languages ladder is called Asset Languages. OCR will run free sessions for teachers next month in Birmingham, Leeds and London. Further details and sample materials are available at www.assetlanguages.org.uk or telephone the OCR information bureau, 01223 553998.
