* The whingeing by Alistair Falk, head of West London academy(“Academy star under fire”, TES, August 12) about their recent inspection report, confirms what many of us always suspected: such schools expect different treatment.

When he says that he expects a report “which understands the context in which an academy is operating” I smiled in disbelief. This has been a consistent cry from most inspected schools from the outset of Ofsted inspections.
