* Although I enjoyed reading the article about toilets (TES, July 26) and appreciated that its style was meant to be humourous, I felt rather uncomfortable when toilets were compared with Afghanistan. No doubt that is because I teach many Afghan pupils, some of whom are refugees. I was glad that they would not be reading the article as they are fiercely proud of their homeland.
