The report “Catch them while they’re young” (TES, May 10) must be music to the ears of many primary heads.

The article on early-years inspections to tackle behaviour problems in the same edition is equally thought-provoking. Funding must be allocated in a child’s formative years.

Attempting a cure later, as many secondaries have found, is a far less desirable scenario.
