* MICHAEL Shaw writes that truants may be able to sue local authorities for not taking action against their parents and making them attend school (TES, July 26). What is this world coming to? Does nobody take any responsibility these days? I must finish this letter now as I am off to see my solicitor. I am thinking of suing my father for not pushing me to take up piano lessons. I could have been a world-class concert performer.
