Politics good for kids

More than three-quarters of teachers believe engaging pupils in election manifesto topics will nurture a new generation of politically active citizens. According to research by British Gas schools programme Generation Green, nearly two-thirds feel the optimum age for this is 10 or younger. The survey also showed that more than half of teachers say lessons based on topical issues are more stimulating for pupils than those that are not.
