Parents have helped to rebuild a 70-pupil Cornish primary. Pelynt County Primary School, near Looe, was built as a one-classroom school in the mid 1980s and gradually expanded to fill two portable classrooms 100 metres from the main site. But the school has now been rebuilt as a three-classroom building, complete with ICT suite and larger staffroom, funded by an interest-free loan from parents and money from Cornwall council. The head is now planning to turn a disused swimming pool into a classroom for pre-school children.
