A Unesco Institute of Statistics study, A View Inside Primary Schools, examined 7,600 schools in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, the Philippines, Tunisia, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay, looking at how the rich-poor divide effects education. It found in Peru less than half of village primaries had electricity or a library, while most urban schools had them.
