Teachers who work with pupils with sensory impairments often receive insufficient special training and monitoring in their schools, the Office for Standards in Education has found.

However, inspectors found that most of the training teachers received away from school on compulsory courses was very good. Mandatory qualifications for teachers of pupils with sensory impairment is at www.ofsted.gov.uk
