Portsmouth - Disobey and face the sin bin

Portsmouth City Council will supply all schools with a “cooler” - an area where naughty children can be sent to calm down.

More primary pupils are excluded in Portsmouth than anywhere else in England, government figures show.

Councillor John Ireland, cabinet member for education, told The News in Portsmouth: “Exclusions should be a last resort. We need to make sure schools are inclusive.”

The council will spend #163;250,000 on the “coolers”, which are expected to be in all the city’s schools by 2011. GL.
