Portsmouth schools help cut shoplifting

Schools in Portsmouth have helped cut shoplifting after lesson plans and DVDs were distributed to demonstrate to teenagers how easy it is to catch thieves with CCTV. The Shoplifting Can Ruin Your Life campaign resulted in a fall of 76 per cent in shoplifting charges in the run-up to last Christmas. The campaign is being considered by the BBC’s Crimewatch Roadshow to form part of a shoplifting special in July.
