Three out of four secondary pupils in Northern Ireland like school and more than nine out of 10 consider the things they learn in class to be important and useful, research shows.
The Young Persons’ Behaviour and Attitudes Survey Bulletin, which surveyed 7,000 post-primary pupils, found that good grades were important for 91 per cent. However 34 per cent thought their parents’ expectations of them were too high. More than three-quarters said school could be boring.
