The son of the late Ted Wragg was due to collect an honorary doctorate on behalf of his father today at Leicester university.

Professor Wragg, who was a graduate of Leicester, was a regular columnist for The TES and director of the school of education at Exeter university for 25 years.

Professor Robert Burgess, vice-chancellor of Leicester university, said:

“It is fitting to honour his memory in front of people who have also excelled in the field of education.”
