I refer to Alan Gibbons’ letter protesting at the teachers’ pay deal and referring to only taking home pound;1,700 a month after 15 years’ service (“Insulting offer”, TES, February 9).
I am intending to pursue a postgraduate certificate n education at the age of 42. Currently as a civil servant I take home pound;940 a month after 23 years’ service - and that’s with a BSc, MSc and a multitude of professional qualifications!
