IF it were not for the international recruitment of teachers, as described by TimePlan’s managing director Ian Penman (TES, August 17), part-time schooling in this country would be widespread. Apart from filling vacancies, other benefits are becoming apparent. For many years, UK teachers have been working abroad and now the complementary influx from every continent completes an exchange that can only invigorate and enhance education - the better side of globalisation.
