JANE Davidson, the National Assembly for Wales’s minister for education, may hope to end the testing at some unspecified date in the future (“Welsh hopes for end to 11-plus”, TES, January 18). But she could have chosen to end testing for 11-year-olds immediately had her Government not chosen to oppose the amendment put forward by Plaid Cymru.
