PATRICK Dodd’s letter (TES, May 12) shows he is in the wrong profession. He is a natural spin doctor. His ability to turn my article on staffroom libraries from a plea for more independent professional support into a Woodhead-style attack on teachers is breathtaking.
The more overwhelming the flood of documents, the more urgently teachrs need other sources of information to protect their professional status. If Mr Dodd believes that “all he needs to know as a teacher” can be offered “in less than 100 pages” I fear he may have already sold out.
