I DON’T wish to fail to give credit where it is due. However, contrary to Peter Smith’s assertion (TES, June 16), it was the lecturers’ union NATFHE, not the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, which “negotiated atraining salary for PGCE (FE) students”. This happened at a meeting between NATFHE and David Blunkett shortly after Easter.
