FOR those who like to while away the idle hours by observing the ebb and flow of management buzz-words, may I recommend you keep an eye open this autumn for “take the work forward”, a little gem which appeared no less than eight times in a recent short Deartment for Education and Employment missive. “Take it on board” is now losing popularity, but the verb “to action” remains as overused as ever, and watch out for a real groan-maker, the verb “to diary”.
