I CANNOT agree more with Dr Pat Bidmead’s views on the assessment of young children (TES, September 10). Perhaps I am just another over-protective mothers, but I was under the impression that we had long recognised the damage that the 11-plus inflicted upon my parents’ generation. Why on earth are risking the alienation of another generation from education?
