AS A teacher I would like to enjoy sitting back and accepting the congratulations that are being handed out for the improved Key Stage 2 national test results.
However, as a mathematician, I am unable to do so. The Government rendered as invalid any comparison between this year’s results and those of the previous year.
They did this by introducing the quick fix “booster”, or more accurately, crammer classes, showing that they are more interested in artificially improving test results rather than investing in any long lasting educational benefits. Surely the money spent on these classes would have been better spent on resourcing schools adequately.
