A primary school cancelled a Harry Potter day after complaints it could lead children into “areas of evil”. Plans for pupils from The Holt primary in Skellingthorpe, Lincolnshire, to dress up as witches and wizards to celebrate the launch of the new JK Rowling book were scrapped after letters were received from parents and a local rector expressing concerns about witchcraft.
