A 16-year-old French school boy was detained by police this week after translating all 759 pages of the latest Harry Potter book into French and posting it online. The boy, from Aix-en-Provence, finished the translation only a few days after the book was published in English on July 21. The authorised French version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will not to be published until October 26. Although the boy is not thought to have sought commercial gain, he may face charges for violating intellectual property rights.
