A Nottingham primary teacher has won pound;150,000 compensation after three years spent working in a classroom with “dry air”.
The teacher suffered permanent damage to her vocal chords and developed a number of cysts after teaching in an overheated Victorian classroom with no ventilation.
The settlement was agreed after lengthy talks between the NASUWT union and Nottingham council. It took into account a possible premature end to the career of the teacher, who will return to work at the beginning of next term.
