Asquith Nurseries, one of the country’s leading operators of day nurseries, has been sold for pound;95 million. Asquith, which provides places for 10,000 children across 113 nurseries and creches nationwide, employs 2,500 people. It was sold to two private equity firms. Its sister company, Asquith Schools, the largest independent owner of day preparatory schools, was sold to Cognita in November 2004.
