I welcome the plea by Paul Collard, chief executive of Creativity, Culture and Education, to rediscover the spirit of the 1999 report All Our Futures, which encouraged creativity in the curriculum (“Great imaginings”, June 5). Most of the emphasis has been on sport and the creative arts, but what about science? After a hard day at the whiteboard-face, it is the science of biotechnology that enables us to enjoy a glass of red wine and become even more creative.
