Young film-makers have been invited by Christian Aid to make a short film about global poverty.

Gang Up On Poverty! is open to children aged between 7 and 14. Entries could be as short as three minutes and should be based on children getting their peers to take action on poverty. The winning entry will be shown on Global Gang, the Christian Aid children’s website, and displayed at the London International Gallery of Children’s Art later this year.

The competition coincides with a revamp of the website, which deals with poverty and injustice through content such as games about landmines and global warming, as well as stories about child soldiers and child labour. The website is also a resource for homework through a section called Find It!

Global Gang is linked to Christian Aid’s Learn website for teachers, teaching assistants and youth leaders. It includes free resources and updates on humanitarian disasters.
