The non-profit distributing organisation (NPDO) model of public private partnership (PPP) project devised by Argyll and Bute Council and its private sector partner ABC Schools has won the award for innovation at the recently held Public Private Finance Awards ceremony in London. While it seeks to capture all the benefits of a private finance initiative, an NPDO is structured so that any extra profit goes to a charity to promote additional educational facilities in Argyll and Bute.
