A high-performing prep school has become the latest independent school to fall victim to the recession. Arundale School in Pulborough, West Sussex, will close at the end of the summer term, despite being ranked 31st in the Sunday Times Parent Power League. A statement from the school said: “Despite best efforts to reverse the decline in pupil numbers, the task had become impossible.”
