Among the new tasks facing colleges after the FE funding council’s management review will be more robust approaches to “risk assessment, scenario planning and succession planning”.

We hear that at one Glasgow college senior staff have been instructed, along Royal Family lnes, not to travel in the same car or even train carriage, thus avoiding the risky scenario of them all being wiped out at the same time.

The college concerned argues that the additional expenditure can be justified by reference to “non-monetary externalities”.
