SECONDARY teachers are lagging behind their primary peers in IT use, with only 36 per cent regularly spending time on a computer. A far greater proportion, 80 per cent, of primary teachers use computers twice a week or more, Government figures show.

The Teacher Training Agency is to start an extensive in-service training exercise to help teachers cope with the rise in Internet use.
