Primary pupils to hit 40-year peak in 2018

By 2018, there are expected to be more pupils in primary schools than at any time during the past 40 years. Official statistics show that there is a marked difference around England, with London under most pressure for school places and the South West and North East having a smaller increase. Overall numbers in 2018 will be 4.51 million pupils, up 11 per cent from 2011.
