St Joseph’s Primary in East Renfrewshire is celebrating four “excellents” and a “very good” in its HMIE report, published this week. The “excellents” were for improvements in performance, meeting learning needs, the curriculum, and improvement through self-evaluation. The “very good” was for learners’ experiences. Head Carlyn Hill, whose leadership was described as “outstanding”, said: “I am particularly pleased that we gained an `excellent’ for our curriculum, as Curriculum for Excellence is still relatively new, and it’s good to know that the approach we are taking to delivering it has the approval of the inspectors.”
