Private-school heads are working more than 60 hours a week, according a survey of 119 heads published by the Girls’ Schools Association. It found that 91 per cent worked at least 60 hours; 40 per cent worked more than 70 hours every week. Almost a third of heads at GSA schools said the greatest obstacle in their working life was “increasing bureaucracy”.
