Mike Tomlinson, the former chief inspector of schools, will act as an adviser to a company aiming to create a chain of cut-price private schools, it emerged this week. Education’s “Mr Fixit” will be joined on the advisory board at Global Education Management Systems by Elizabeth Passmore, former Ofsted director of inspections, and John McBeath, chair of educational leadership at Cambridge University. The Dubai-based company already runs private schools in the Middle East.
