Protest against loss of sponsorship

With reference to your article “Euro threat to sponsorship deals” (TES, January 9), the Central Council of Physical Recreation recognises that the European Commission’s Green Paper on Commercial Communications poses a danger to an important source of funding for school sport - for example, the Kellogg’s sponsorship of the Rainbow Swimming Awards would be made illegal.

We would urge all your readers whose schools have benefited from sponsorship to write to the EC president outlining the benefits received. The address is: Jacques Santer, President, European Commission, Brey de la Loi 200, B-1049 Brussels, Belgium.
