A “unique” new booklet gives practical advice to young people aged 12-18 who are being bullied.

It was put together by anti-bullying service respectme, with help from ChildLine, after consultation with the target age group.

“We believe this resource is unique and talks to children and young people about bullying behaviour in a realistic and honest way,” said respectme director Brian Donnelly.

“We listened to young people and they wanted information that helped them make the right choices, not just a list of do’s and don’ts.”

The book recognises that each person’s response to bullying situations will be different. It also asks readers to consider not only how they feel themselves, but how they behave towards others.

“Bullying ... What can I do?” is free and is being distributed to every school and registered service in Scotland.
