The London borough of Lambeth is facing a jobs boycott by educational psychologists in response to its plan to devolve responsibility for special needs to schools. Requesting a meeting with Heather DuQuesnay, Lambeth’s director of education, the Association of Educational Psychologists said it was concerned about “the narrow range and methods of working within the educational psychology service, the imposed time constraints mitigating against professional practice, and the general ethos that considers the EPS a support service for schools with no professional independence”.
